Today, the Guild is both nationally and internationally recognised for its efforts and achievements in improving standards for both chimney sweeps and their customers.

Association of Professional Independent Chimney Sweeps (APICS)

Association of Professional Independent Chimney Sweeps

APICS was formed to keep our members independent and to set the standards sweeps must reach to become a member, improving the knowledge and safety of chimney sweeps and customers across the country, thereby giving customers a better service and a name they can trust.
APICS is a friendly organisation, recognising that chimney sweeps are independent and should be allowed to get on with their daily work without interference.

Chimney Skills Training

Chimney Sweep NVQ

Chimney Skills Trainings mission is to provide a pathway to move chimney sweeps and solid fuel installers to formally recognised trade status. Within a friendly but highly professional environment, they provide the means to this through formal qualification using the newly developed NVQ structure for chimney occupations. The focus is to empower the chimney associated tradespeople by providing resources, tools and knowledge to help to address the changing goals within the industry. Technological advancement and requirements to improve air quality being the driving force behind this program. With the uniquely practical and straightforward approach, participants can help secure their place within the landscape and gain true professional trade status. In doing so, they will safeguard a world class solid fuel industry for the future.  Contact: Chris Geeves 07973 905151 Phil Cleaver 07444 961891
