Wire chimney brushes are heavy-duty and specifically built to scrape away tough soot, ash, and hardened creosote from masonry, brick, and clay chimneys liners. Wire chimney brushes are not for use in stainless steel liners or metal flues, as they will score the metal, cause premature corrosion, and void your manufacturer warranty. For metal flue systems, chose from our range of bristle chimney brushes which feature a ball top.
Wire Brush Selection
• Match the Flue Shape: Always choose a brush shape that perfectly matches your flue profile (e.g., round, square, or rectangular).
• Measure Exactly: Your brush must match the inner dimensions of your flue exactly; a brush that is too small won’t scrape the walls, while a wire brush that is too will not make the correct brushing action.
• Thread Type Compatibility: Ensure the brush fitting matches your sweeping rods. Our range of wire brushes have a ¾” fitting so will fit onto drain type rods and baily blue rods. We stock a wide range of rod adaptors should you want to fit onto a different rod type.
