Types of Chimney Smoke Testing Products available at Rodstation
Standard Smoke Pellets: These typically provide a burn time of 30 to 60 seconds. They are ideal for standard chimney and flue testing, producing between 5 and 15 cubic metres of smoke per pellet.
Encapsulated Pellets: These are coated in a polycarbonate or plastic sheath, making them cleaner to handle and leaving less residue.
Coloured Smoke Pellets: While white smoke is standard, orange pellets are available for better visibility on bright or overcast day however the dyes can potentially stain surrounding surfaces.
Smoke Matches: Best for smaller tasks like checking the initial draught of a flue or testing for spillage on gas appliances. They burn for about 20 seconds
